Jeep Tours

Numerous Sedona, Arizona tour companies offer visitors vacation adventures, taking you to areas you would not be able to find on your own. These tours range from rugged off-road tours, vortex tours, scenic tours and archeological adventures to one of the area ruins.

Private Tours: Private, professionally guided tours and hikes can be arranged for you by experienced guides in the Sedona or Grand Canyon areas. Let us recommend one of two, preferred, tour companies who will personalize the Sedona experience for you by taking you to secret places, red rock vistas, ruins and vortexes and tailor them to your level of ability.

Hot Air Balloon Rides

Balloon over beautiful Sedona red rock county with one of Sedona's balloon companies.

Bus Tours

Various tours give Sedona visitors the opportunity to visit and tour nearby towns and monuments, as well as going to the Grand Canyon.

Trolley Service

For a more relaxed way of site-seeing, two trolley companies operate in Sedona taking visitors to sites of interest in the Sedona area, including Tlaquepaque, filled with restaurants and shops, the Chapel built into the red rocks and numerous other places.

Scenic Trains

View beautiful mountain scenes on the Verde Canyon Railroad that takes visitors through the remote Verde Canyon. Saturday evening wine-tasting rides are among the special activities available during the year.

The Grand Canyon Railroad gives visitors several options to see the Grand Canyon. Day trips or overnights are available.

Horseback Riding

We work with two Sedona companies that offer a variety of horseback riding opportunities; some that include chuck wagon dinners and some that include 1/2 day thru 2-3 day trips.

Hiking

There are more than 130 official hiking trails in the Sedona area. Guests can roam in the Coconino National Forest, just behind the Cozy Cactus or take an official trail to Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte, just up the road. Whether it is the views, a challenging climb or exploring the Native American ruins that makes hiking special for you, we will help you choose the Sedona experience that is right for you.  Remember each of our rooms has a copy of  "Sedona Hikes"; the definitive hiking book of Sedona with all 130 hikes. 

Bicycling

There are tremendous vacation opportunities in Sedona to bicyclers. Nearby bike shops will rent bicycles and be there in the event that you need supplies. 

• * Three Hundred and sixty miles of shared use trails await avid bicyclers here in Sedona.
• * Bell Rock pathway is a, smooth and groomed, 8 mile scenic ride for families and individuals, just 5 minutes away.
• * Guided mountain bike tours are available by one of our nearby bike shops. Bell Rock Scenic Tour, Cathedral Rock Tour and Broken Arrow/Little Horse Tour
• * Bike shops are available a block away that can supply you with trail maps and information, and bike rentals, as well as offering services and repair.

Motorcycles

Birding/Wildlife

The Cozy Cactus Bed & Breakfast's location in Sedona gives our guests a unique opportunity to see many indigenous and migratory bird species in our backyard, which is the Coconino National Forest. Aside from the Gambels Quails, which abound, one can also see Ladder back Woodpeckers, Blue-Gray Gnatcatchers, various Towhees, Cactus Wren, Pinyon and Scrub Jays, Scotts Orioles, Greater Roadrunner, Dark-eyed Junco and Sharp Shinned hawks to name a few.  In addition to seeing birds from our terrace, there are bird and nature hikes throughout the week at Red Rock State Park.

Art

Sedona has long been a magnet for artists and the number of galleries in town - more than 40- reflects this. Visitors can browse for sculptures, paintings, photographs, pottery, beautiful woven garments, jewelry and Navaho rugs. At Tlaquepaque,(try saying "to lock your pocket") built as a replica of a Mexican village, wander through shady courtyards cooled by splashing fountains and visit unique galleries or grab a bite to eat in one of several restaurants.

The Body

Numerous Sedona Spas offer visitors an opportunity to treat themselves; be it a facial, manicure, pedicure or other self-indulging treatment. Sedona has a variety of excellent massage professionals and facilities that allow guests to have treatments in-doors, out-doors or in your room or as a couple. Ask us to arrange for a day pass to one of the resort spas in the area.

The Mind

Sedona offers a myriad of opportunities to learn and nurture your mind. Visit the crystal shops, vortexes or psychic and holistic professionals.

Regional Attractions

Jerome is an old mining town turned ghost town, which has been revived in recent years. After being abandoned when the copper mine closed, it was reinhabited and turned into an art colony. Perched on the side of a mountain about a 35 minute spectacular drive from Sedona, visitors can walk the winding old streets and glimpse life as it was lived at the turn of the century. Numerous shops and galleries offer diversions and several restaurants will feed and refresh the weary.

Sedona's red rock country and its environs offers visitors spectacular scenic driving opportunities. Some of the scenic drives include Schnebly Hill Road (if you have an SUV), Red Rock Loop Road, Boynton Pass Loop, Page Springs Loop, and Oak Creek Canyon.

A number of ancient ruins including Pilatki, Honanki, Wupatki - some with petroglyphs and pictographs - are a short drive. Also see Montezuma Castle or Well, as well as Tuzigoot National Monument.

Grand Canyon

The south rim is approximately a 2 hour drive from the Cozy Cactus.
